Teaching Materials
The Algo Club programme uses specially and uniquely designed teaching materials which were developed through intensive research. Through manipulation of these teaching materials, Plus223 Education facilitators stimulate, exercise and cultivate student’s thinking, reasoning, analytical, and communication skills. Stimulation of different senses (touch, sight, hearing) wakes up and develops students’ math abilities.

ALGO
ALGO is a card game which can be played as a number guessing game (using multiple players) or as a number ordering game (using a single player). Both playing methods specifically develop student’s mathematical thinking and logical reasoning skills, concept of whole numbers, memory, attention, and communication. Using 24 black and white cards with numbers, players attempt to guess other’s cards while applying certain rules and logic of games and mathematics.

P-CUBE
P-CUBE is a cubic puzzle which requires students to construct certain solids by looking at sketches and following instructions. This puzzle requires students to rotate, move and reconstruct shapes through visualizing and applying thinking processes while manipulating the differently shaped pieces. This puzzle develops deeper spatial sense in students, which is essential for geometry learning. The P-CUBE also helps students develop creativity, attention/focus, and memory.

I-CUBE
I-CUBE is a square shaped puzzle which requires students to lay the piece in the inside of the square shaped frame while following certain instructions, rules, and logics. Through games using this puzzle, students learn to visualize various shapes and how they move, which develops spatial sense. This game increases logical thinking and reasoning skills, creativity, attention, memory, and communication.

GEO-1
GEO-1 is similar to tangram puzzles. This puzzle includes 11 different sized triangle pieces. Using all the pieces, students construct certain shapes or images by looking at shadow pictures and following instructions. This puzzle improves two-dimensional spatial sense, creativity, attention, and memory.
Worksheets
The Algo Club programme uses three types of worksheets.
MISSING ALGO Worksheets mimic playing the card game, but on paper. Students guess other’s cards, applying different logical thinking and rules. These activities are designed to enhance student’s mathematical reasoning and analytical skills. It is a premier worksheet that will develop higher-level logical thinking skills.
AC PUZZLE Worksheets include specially designed maze, magic square, number link, and other types of puzzles. They are designed to enhance students’ mathematical thinking and reasoning skills, as well as attention.
AC CHALLENGE Worksheets cover many different mathematical concepts, and are specifically designed to develop students’ investigation skill, as well as mathematical thinking, reasoning, analytical, and communication abilities. The worksheets encourage students to go beyond thinking only whether their answers are right or wrong, and to focus on the thinking process and how to investigate the self-questioning that lead to their answers.
